Program Implementation:
Strengthen and develop WASH program at managerial, operational and strategic level Ensure that quality assessments are undertaken to determine priority WASH needs in target areas in a timely fashion Review technical designs where and as needed Ensure all implementation plans employ a programming approach that integrates the needs of, and closely collaborates with other relevant sectors such as NFI and Health/Medical Provide technical support and capacity building for local and expatriate program staff Overall responsibility of prioritization of interventions and day-to-day program implementation with WASH staff Select and implement appropriate monitoring and evaluations systems; analyzing results to ensure and enhance program effectiveness and quality Monitor and evaluate appropriate implementation of technical interventions against program objectives Assure appropriate and timely spending of grants to achieve program goals, grant reporting contributions, use and distribution of supplies and resources Provide regular reports, document results and lessons learned, and maintain detailed records Actively contribute to proposal writing and strategy development
Human Resources Management:
Manage, supervise and provide support to all WASH staff Pro-actively maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions Take responsibility for discussing job expectations, and appraise performance against set objectives on a regular basis Overall responsibility for staff work plans, vacation schedules, and staff training / development activities Ensure adhere to and act in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
Other External representation of WASH activities towards relevant stakeholders Pro-actively participates at technical working groups, and ensures dissemination of information to the WASH team Any other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator and/or Team Leader
QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in civil / public health engineering or related field 5+ years professional technical experience in emergency WASH responses, with at least 3 years in conflict situations Solid managerial skills and experience in an international multi-cultural setting Strong project planning, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Proven technical writing skills Budget management experience Willingness to travel in high security areas Competent in Windows, MS office programs, AutoCAD (or similar computer aided design), email and database experience Interpersonal qualities: Excellent leadership skills, promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure
LANGUAGES • Ability to speak Arabic a plus
