REGIONAL GRANT PROGRAM OFFICER

Duty station: Nairobi (Kenya)
Job title: Regional Grant Program Officer
As a key member of the Regional Coordination Team, the post holder will be required to ensure that program quality is of organizational standards, support the procurement, marketing and funding processes of the program, through management of funding proposals and of timely and accurate donor reports
I) strengthen adherence to contracts and donor requirements; ensuring accountability, international standards and procedures, COOPI internal guidelines implementation at project level
II) providing teams with the required technical support, guidance and training and increase field team’s grant management capacity, understanding of donor compliance and budget management through targeted training of staff.
III) ensure support to regional administration unit in analyzing for the overall program financial sustainability, identification of resources, financial flexibility, preparation of financial reports and documentation before submission to Regional Administrator for final approval
IV) take over from the previous grant program officer the strategic management for the emergency multi donors program (in coordination with the Program and Administrative Unit)
V) support the marketing and funding processes of the emergency program, through management of funding proposals and of timely and accurate donor reports.

VII) development and management of all grants, with pro-active engagement in
VIII) act as focal point for program development and strategy discussions grants management (budgeting/reporting/audit) with specific reference to health program

The GPO will join a skilled, experienced team, and will meet the following essential criteria:
— At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in program management for an international organization/donor
— Fluency in English (written and spoken)
— University Degree or equivalent Higher Education qualification
— Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
— Field work experience in the region is definitely a plus
