COMMUNICATION OFFICER IN EMERGENCIES  PHILIPPINES

ACF is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for ACF in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.

ACF-Spain is looking for a Communication officer, mainly based in Manila.

DESCRIPTION

1.Coordination
To be the focal point for all communication issues related to floods in Philippines for the mission and for ACF network, in coordination with ACF Spain.
To be the focal point for the organizations of press trip with media in the country.
Liaise and share information with international media correspondents and local media if needed.
To be the spokesperson for media when needed and in accordance with the head of mission.
Improve the sharing of information between missions and UN system of information.

2.Production of the following outputs
Continue to collect information and data from ACF capital and bases in order to compile a monthly communication document to share at all levels (internal, media, clusters…)
Work closely with the mission, geographical and emergency desks and communication service to define ACF line of communication.
Define with the mission a local communication strategy: support and/or recruit local communication officer if relevant and implement local communication activities and tools.
Write, produce and release press statements about ACF activities, fields of intervention or humanitarian issues.
Produce a press dossier on Disaster Risk Management focused on Philippines.
Collect photos, videos, testimonies from the mission.
Organize a real video documentary on ACF’s work.
Work closely with ACF community manager to release information on social networks.

PROFILE
Post-graduate studies in communication with at least one confirmed professional experience in communication, ideally on the field and at a similar position.
Able to work autonomously.
Skilled in researching, collecting and synthesizing information.
Experience in graphic production (photos, videos).
Fluency in English and Spanish (working languages) and French is requested.

REMUNERATIVE PACKAGE
House and maintenance covered by the organization.
Formal contract of work: 2 months.
Salary: from 1200€ to 1840 € gross per month according to candidate’s previous experience + responsibility plus (according to standard list of ACF- Spain)
Travel costs to and from the mission.
Per Diems.
25 working days of holidays per year.
Travel and accident insurance and repatriation on account of the organization.
Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old).

For candidates who are not in Madrid, the first interview will be through telephone. Short listed candidates will have a face to face interview to be held in Madrid. For those candidates selected, all the travel costs will be refund when the first mission is assigned.
