Project Officer, Yangon Office

Background

MONTROSE is an international development project management and consultancy company providing support to clients operating in the developing world. Specialised in the sectors of health, education, rural livelihoods and private sector development, our clients include bilateral and multilateral development agencies, the private sector, Non-Governmental Organisations and other development stakeholders. Montrose designs and implements bespoke programmes for a range of clients across the Africa and the Asia-Pacific. Currently Montrose’s Asia-Pacific office is implementing a range of projects including social investment programmes for private sector clients, a multi-country open data programme and numerous evaluations in health and education sectors.

Montrose is seeking a full-time Project Officer based in our Yangon office to support the successful implementation of our ongoing projects and provide inputs and support to our technical work. The successful candidate for this position will have some relevant experience working in the field, be eager to learn and grow with the company, demonstrate flexibility, creativity and initiative.

Core Responsibilities

· Support the project management team to manage cost-effective and high quality project implementation

· Draft, review and proofread technical and programme delivery reports

· Coordinate and support the facilitation of workshops

· Coordinate and participate in community engagement activities in strategic field locations

· Support the project management team in managing consultants

· Supporting the application of compliance requirements

· Support business development activities including drafting components of proposals

· Undertake desk research related to existing or new contracts and proposals

Essential Skills and Qualifications

· Excellent written and spoken English

· Exceptional written and oral communication skills

· Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Three years' work experience in relevant field including overseas experience

· Developing world experience

· Yangon-based

· Demonstrated problem solving skills, initiative and creative thinking
