Senior ME Training Manager
Position Summary & Responsibilities: International Medical Corps is a leading international humanitarian agency which responds to the population’s health and psychosocial needs in humanitarian settings, while also supporting the recovery of systems and services in transitional and development contexts. Currently, the core program delivery is focused on primary healthcare, health systems support, reproductive health, gender based violence, mental health & psychosocial support, nutrition and food security, water, sanitation and hygiene, and monitoring and evaluation.
JOB SUMMARY:
International Medical Corps is seeking a Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Training Manager to standardize national monitoring and evaluation (M&E) curriculum and provide cascade training and mentorship for a CDC program in Kenya. The program will build health care worker capacity to define, interpret and calculate HIV/AIDS indicators and create an effective feedback system for optimizing use of HIV/AIDS data. The program will build the Ministry of Health’s capacity to monitor and evaluate HIV/AIDS programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct review of, update, and standardize national M&E curriculum and training materials based on identified gaps and needs; Coordinate with Program Director and Project Manager to ensure development of quality training materials.
• Provide cascade M&E training and mentorship to health workers at the national, county and sub-county levels, including cohort analysis and Routine Data Quality Assessment (RDQA) tools/protocol training.
• Monitor progress and impact of training, including participant knowledge/skill and level of data generation, reporting, and dissemination. Administer and track pre/post-training tests and develop reports on training successes and results.
• Conduct M&E mentorship visits to strengthen M&E at the county and sub county level staff; Ensure county and sub-county M&E staff are sensitized to the importance of accurate data collection and training; Communicate gaps and need to Program Director.
• Provide technical assistance to national and county governments on the implementation of M&E best practices.
• Provide technical assistance to national and county governments on development and dissemination of learning and knowledge management products.
Skills & Requirements: • At least 5 years of experience 1) Designing M&E curriculum and training tools 2) Conducting and assessing outcomes/impact of cascade training workshops.
• At least 2 years of M&E experience, including cohort analysis, with strong working knowledge of Routine Data Quality Assessment (RDQA) tools/protocol.
• At least 5 years of experience with public health and HIV/AIDS programs.
• Experience in training and capacity building of health staff in a limited resource environment.
• Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills to liaise and collaborate with host country government and Ministry of Health. Proven experience working with Ministry of Health counterparts at the national, county, and sub-county levels.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience with PEPFAR and CDC programs strongly preferred. Other Relevant Information (if applicable): LANGUAGES
• Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret, technical and non-technical in the English language.
• Knowledge of Kiswahili is desired.
