PSYCHOLOGIST – HEAD OF PROJECT

ACF is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for ACF in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
ACF-Spain (ACF-E) is looking for a Psychologist – Head of Projectfor intervention in the South Lebanon.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
· Support the implementation and monitoring of the IYCF and CMAM programme In Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.
· Will be responsible to participate to the planning, the conception, the starting, the follow-up, the evaluation of the project and the hand over in close cooperation with the Nutrition Head of Project.
· Ensure program consistency and good collaboration amongst the nutrition and mental health team and others ACF teams for comprehensive care of the program beneficiaries.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
· Assess on a regular basis psychosocial needs among the Syrian refugee community settled in the intervention area; as monitoring practices and needs within the Lebanese community.
· Identify activities to implement in order to respond to the needs identify among the Syrian community and adapt the program tools and activities accordingly in coordination with the Head of Project
· Define activity planning and implementing strategy in collaboration with the Head of Project
· Analyse on-going activities and propose changes if needed.
· Ensure MHPSS training and individual/group supervision of the MHPSS team according to plan defined with the Head of Project
· Set up an evaluation system to monitoring the training needs of the MHPSS team and provide specific training module about maternal depression, children and mother attachment, PFA or any other relevant issue.
· Monitoring and develop group activities for caregivers with children under 2 and pregnant women at field level.
· Assess and supervised individual sessions with identified vulnerable women.
· Define and set up appropriate referral system psychosocial and psychological matter in coordination with the Head of Project.
· Support the Head of Project regarding the psychosocial and psychological aspect of the CMAM component of the project upon request.
· Support the Head of Project for the elaboration of the monthly treasury forecast of the psychosocial activities of the program
· Identifying and collaborating with the department of logistics and Head of Project in the definition of the requests of materials, forecasted in the donor’s contract according to the program’s needs.
· Organise supervision on regular basis for Psychologist Field Officer and Social Worker.
· Actively participate to the reinforcement and improvement of internal coordination with others ACF program
· Share psychosocial data with external stakeholders.
PROFILE:
· MA degree in psychology.
· Experience in training, familiar with the stimulation and knowledge of methods.
· Specialist in emergency response and in post-crisis monitoring, knowledge of maternal and child health and in nutrition.
· Mental Health experience in emergency. Integration of Mental Health in Nutrition project experience.
· At least 3 years of experience within humanitarian organisations and in the technical components mentioned above.
· Skills about need assessments procedures and clinical supervision.
· Competencies in assessing and develop training program according to the team needs
· Knowledge of refugees related MHPSS issues.
· Good capacity of analysis. Competences in training.
· Good communications skills
· Good capacity to work independently and as a part of a cross-cultural team.
· Autonomy, creativity, adaptability and flexibility.
· English (compulsory working language, spoken, read and written); Spanish (desirable); Arabic (useful).
· Windows Domain, Compulsory expertise in Excel, accounting program
· Mobility national and international.
REMUNERATIVE PACKAGE
We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:
Formal contract of work. Forecast duration: 4 months
Salary: from 1.375€ to 1.750€ grossper month according to candidate’s previous experience (according to standard list of ACF- Spain)
ACF- Spain remuneration system allows a salary progression based on the annual development appraisal.
Up to 20% additional remuneration depending on the position’s context and responsibilities (according the grading scale set by ACF-E)
House and maintenance covered by the organization (including per diem): package estimated according to the destination.
Travel costs to and from the mission.
25 working days of paid leave per year.
Break: additional rest period, including travel cost to a reference area and economic help of 215€.
Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization.
Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old): from 100€ to 225€ monthly (according to standard list of ACF-Spain).
