Livelihoods Specialist, Zimbabwe We are currently seeking a Livelihoods Specialist for an anticipated five year Title II Development Food Aid Program (DFAP) in Zimbabwe. This multi-year, non-emergency program will be integrated with USAID strategies to address the underlying causes of chronic food insecurity. The Livelihoods Specialist will provide overall leadership, management and general technical direction of the program livelihoods component and will supervise a range of technical specialists focused on activities such as improved crop production, livestock, marketing, irrigation/NRM, access to credit, and group formation. The position is contingent upon ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program.

Responsibilities • Contribute to the development and modification of livelihood strategies; ensure strategies meet program objectives. • Ensure integration of livelihood activities with other program components. • Supervise activities of project long-term and short-term field staff. • Lead assessments of community needs and resources to provide information for program design and implementation. • Network with relevant Ministries, other NGOs, local government officials, and community leaders to ensure support and local ownership of project activities. • Manage implementation of micro-projects according to approved objectives, plans of action, and budgets • Draft and supervise the preparation of relevant sections of program reports and workplans. • Develop questionnaires to collect information about food security, production levels of crops, household incomes, dietary diversity and other information directly from the beneficiaries

Qualifications • Masters degree or equivalent in economic development, agronomy, community development, natural resource management or other related field • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing programs related to integrated rural development • Experience managing staff • Demonstrated proficiency in the field of people and project management, strategic planning • Prior experience with USAID projects, procedures, policies and reporting requirements is required. • Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required
