Ipas is an international NGO specializing in women’s reproductive health care and rights. Through the Africa Alliance office based in Nairobi, Ipas supports programs and policy strategies in the Africa region and selected countries, including Kenya, Uganda and Malawi . The Ipas Africa Alliance seeks key staff to head its finance team in Kenya and the region. The Senior Finance Manager will lead the finance and operations team to support the work of the programs and policy team in Kenya and other selected countries to improve women’s reproductive health and rights.

Responsibilities:
Provides oversight and coordination the Africa Alliance finance team by ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, timely reporting and submission of financial reports , oversee adherence to SOPs, donor guidelines and local regulations and GAAP.
Works closely with Africa Vice-President, Alliance Directors and Managers to ensure budgets are consistent with strategic plans, assists the in the formulation of project and new proposal budgets, provides strategic inputs on budgeting and provides training and orientation on budgeting process and procedures.
Supervises the banking arrangements, liaison with the banker, ensure adequate cash flow for operations, and ensure to minimize exposure to currency exchange gain /loss.
Supervises the finance, human resources and operations/office logistics functions.
Establishes annual audit program in consultation with Country/Programs Director and HQ Finance, oversee the implementation of annual statutory audit, and oversee the implementation of annual audit, findings/recommendations.

Core Requirements:
C.P.A. certification is desired
Master’s degree preferred
Bachelor’s with a major in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field is required
At least 9 years’ experience required, including International NGO experience
3-4 years previous supervisory experience required
Must be able to independently produce financial statements according to internationally accepted accounting principles
Must possess an in-depth knowledge of country and region specific accounting standards and principles
Must be familiar with on-going regulatory changes that can potentially affect Ipas operations in a given country or region
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and excellent computer skills
