CAFOD works with partner organisations around the world, including in the West Africa and Great Lakes region, to build programmes that fight against poverty, injustice and that help to build a strong and dynamic society.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for the management of and implementation of Governance and Peace Building programmes in DRC and the sub-region. This will include responsibilities for; programme strategy development, budget control, monitoring & evaluation, staff recruitment and line management (including remote management), and networking & relationship building with partners and authorities.
The Programme Manager will further provide advice during the implementation and the evaluations of programmes and will propose adjustments for cost-efficiency and any other areas of improvements needed to improve the impact of the programme. He/she will also monitor the local context and risks to programme delivery, (including social, economic and political factors) ensuring this programmes are responding and adapting to any changes identified.
You will demonstrate a high level understanding of governance issues, experience working on governance programmes, and knowledge and experience of peace building principles and approaches.
Practical experience in Programme management (design, implementation and evaluation), as well as a strong capability in finance management, budget management (including multiple donor funding) and staff management is also required.
You will further need to demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and excellent relationship building skills in a multicultural environment. The ability to speak and read both English and French at a fluent level is of a great importance too.
