Office Manager and Government Liaison - Senegal
Shelter For Life International (SFL) is a Christian Relief and Development organization with over 27 years of history in providing humanitarian assistance to post conflict countries. SFL is currently operational in Afghanistan, South Sudan, Senegal and Tajikistan. Our Headquarters is located in Minnetonka, MN. SFL provides support and assistance in the following areas:
Shelter and Population Settlement
Application of Microcredit
Agriculture Development and Food Security
Reconstruction of Physical and Market Infrastructure; i.e. farm-to-market roads, irrigation systems, and food storage, etc.

We are currently seeking an Office Manager to assist in the opening and managing of our new Shelter For Life office in Casamance, located in Southern Senegal. Our project in Senegal is a three year road construction project – building tertiary farm to market roads.
Summary:
The Office Manager will report to the Senegal Country Director. The ideal candidate will be fluent in French and English, with the ability to act as a translator. Also important to this position is the ability to network and influence local government contacts, as this position will be in charge of arranging SFL’s meetings with government officials.
Areas of Responsibility:
Front Office Manager Position will function as an Executive Assistant to SFL’s Country Director and senior management team. The Office Manager will assist in the set-up of the program offices in Casamance and Delta regions, and Dakar, filing for required registrations with the government, appropriating supplies to equip SFL offices. He/she will set up and maintain filing and records systems.
Purchasing Office Manager will be responsible to purchasing supplies to set up and equip office. He/she will take regular inventory of needed supplies, and work with vendors to purchase them, ensuring invoices are correct.
Liaison to government officials
Office Manager will act as a liaison to local and national government officials, setting up meetings with SFL senior staff, assisting in developing the agenda, taking notes. In addition, the liaison will be the primary point person for all NGO meetings and organizational functions.
Setting up Systems and Procedures Office Manager, along with senior management will be responsible for setting up systems and procedures for: Business Development, Finance, reporting on project progress.
Hospitality Coordinator Office Manager is responsible for coordinating all in-country travel for senior staff members, and all international guest accommodations including pre-arrival coordination, arrival facilitation/coordination, lodging, in-country travel, etc.
Education and Experience Requirements: • Graduate of two-year business school, with 2-5 years senior administrative support experience. • Fluent in French and English, strong verbal and written skills. • Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. • Very detail oriented, prior background of strong administrative support to executives. • Commitment to SFL’s Christian mission which is to demonstrate God’s love by enabling people affected by conflict and disaster to restore their lives and rebuild their communities.
