Juba, South Sudan - The Technical Systems Officer will monitor, maintain and troubleshoot the computers, networks, communications equipment, and electrical systems for the South Sudan Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure efficient smooth running technical systems and equipment for all South Sudan field sites • Work in close coordination and consultation with the Regional Technical Support Officer. • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks • Supervise the installation and configuration of computer systems at South Sudan field sites • Find solutions to problems on computer and electrical systems • Perform complex troubleshooting for system and network problems as well as running diagnostics to solve hardware/software faults • Providing support on computer & electrical applications, including procedural, documentation and including security and data backup and recovery • Perform installation and repairs on all electrical systems • Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of Codan radios • Ensure thorough, long lasting, quality work is done for the technical systems. Refer to third party technical experts and contractors if necessary • Rapidly establish good working relationships with relevant professionals and services • Prioritize and manage multiple projects • Understand field technical needs and gaps • Conduct research on new solutions to long standing issues • Propose and implement new technological solutions • Train and mentor a Sudanese Technical Assistant • Compile basic training manuals for national staff including: basic computer, Microsoft Office and Codan usage • Compile technical systems reporting, including a weekly summary and monthly report • With a generous and serving spirit perform all other tasks and responsibilities assigned for the benefit of Samaritan’s Purse • Maintain a Christian witness
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical degree • Experience in working with Codan radio and communication equipment • 2 years of relevant computer and technical experience • Experience working in cross cultural setting • Field experience working in Africa preferred • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • Detail oriented and good communicator • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable • Established strong leadership skills • Strong initiative and self-motivation, with a commitment to teamwork • Extensive experience and knowledge in computers and technical systems • Arabic language skills preferred but not required
12 month contract with the potential for renewal
