CARE International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried out large scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency operations, transitional activities centered on agriculture and nutrition and a range of development initiatives in such areas as water and sanitation, health and micro-credit.

CARE Indonesia Head Quarter in Jakarta is currently recruiting the following position:

JOB TITLE : BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (BDM)

REPORTS TO : SEAD PROGRAM LEADER


JOB SUMMARY

Working closely with the Enterprise & Economic Development (EED) Program leader, the Business Development Manager will identify opportunities and design effective and innovative EED programs. The Manager will work with other CII staff to integrate EED Programs with other CII Programs. The Manager will develop tools for quality implementation of the EED program and provide assistance in impact analysis.

The Business Development Manager assists the EED Program Leader in the transformation of the EED Program Unit into a foundation. Activities include: development of a business plan, identification of founders and board members, and market the services of the program/foundation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Responsibility
#1: EED Program Development
· Guided by the CII strategic plan and EED strategy:
- identify new programming opportunities
- research, monitor and collaborate on funding opportunities with a range of donors (international, multi laterals, private foundation, private sector companies)
· Develop concepts and proposals and ensure the new business pipeline targets are met
· Promote products and services to potential donors
· Develop marketing brochures and publications highlighting the EED program
· Assist with the establishment of quality control system and contribute to development of impact analysis tools, including necessary coordination with Program Design and Quality Unit (PDQU) and Program Managers in setting up indicators as basis of program action plans
· Seek potential integration of EED Program into other CII program to generate more added value; coordinate with Program Managers of non EED Program for program harmonization and efficiency Assist EED Program Leader in developing EED team work (including identifying required resources and capacity building for the team work)
· Explore possibilities of program funding diversification, partnership with other development agencies (including government) and implementation of sustainable economic and enterprise development (market based intervention delivery)
· Ensure that CARE cross-cutting themes of gender equality, and targeting women and girls are included in
concepts and designs
· Support the transformation of EED program unit into a foundation

Responsibility
#2: External Relations and Partnerships
· Establish and maintain regular
and transparent communications and effective working relations with relevant
counterparts of GOI, CI Members, donors, locally based INGOs, networks,
coalitions and stakeholders relevant to economic development program
· Uphold CARE’s good image at all
levels, internal and external
· Articulate to all stakeholders
CARE’s mission statement, apolitical nature and core values
· Ensure compliance to all local
and national government protocols properly observed
· Maintain a high standard of
transparency and accountability in all transactions carried out with partners

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education minimum Bachelor
Degree in Economic Development Studies or Social Economy Studies

2. Experiences:
a. Specifically working in economic development sector as consultant, designer or practitioners over 8 years (leading economic development program is preferable)
b. Experiencing in saving mobilization, access to finance, value chain and small business management are added value
c. Engaging
in development activities over 10 years
d. Engaging
a network with various International and Local NGOs either in partnership or in
collaboration or in funding-implementation relationship
e. Involving
in project/program proposal development and dealing with local and
international donors

3. Having solid knowledge
and experience on project management including monitoring and evaluation

4. Technical skills
requirement:
a. Marketing Skill

WORKING CONDITIONS

70% working in the office and 30% traveling
