Chemonics seeks short-term Publishing Systems Specialist

Chemonics seeks a short-term Publishing Systems Specialist for the USAID-funded Indonesia Marine and Climate Support project in Indonesia. The project aims to sustainably manage Indonesia’s marine and coastal
ecosystems.

The Publishing Systems Specialist will assist PUSDATIN to develop professional publishing house procedures and practices that improve the content, range and quality of articles being queued for publication in Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) magazines, bulletins and other outreach materials.

Responsibilities include:

· Assess existing organizational arrangements for the writing, editing and production of articles to be included in MMAF publications.
· Conduct focus group discussions (FGD) and follow-up meetings with MMAF to review its publication systems and procedures for quality control in each step of the publications process.
· Prepare draft technical guidelines that will improve the systems and procedures for publishing, and
· Assist PUSDATIN to apply and refine the technical guidelines during one publication cycle as a pilot test.
Qualifications:

· At least five years of experience in communications, especially inpublishing and editing outreach material.
· Advanced degree preferred.
· Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written, to fulfill the technical and managerial responsibilities proposed.
· Strong English writing and speaking skills required.
