NUTRITION FIELD MONITOR (1 position)

Duration of contract : until July 31st, 2011

Objective 1 : Implement the emergency Mental Health Care Practices project
Activities:
In the direction of Psychosocial Supervisor, implement the psychosocial
activities:
- Support therapeutic group sessions for distressed people (Individual,
family and group sessions) in collaboration with Puskesmas psychologists.
- Propose support groups to pregnant and lactating women on care
practices and mental health topics by using available existing support groups.
- Support weekly psychosocial talking group
- Prepare the training and train local volunteer health worker (cadres)
to propose psychosocial activities to mothers and families in distress

- Support the psychosocial activities to mother and childrens
- Coordinate with Puskesmas psychologist for each activity conducted.

Objective 2 : Represent the Organization when liaising with its partners
Activities :
- Explain the project’s activities and objectives to partners and the
population
- Act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries

Objective 3 : Monitoring of the program implementation
Activities :
- Ensure monitoring of the project implementation process
- Ensure that the designed activities had been well implemented

Objective 4 : Write reports
Activities :
· Submit weekly reports for supervisorconsist of a clear idea about the
situation in the villages & shelters where the activities are implemented.
· Submit monthly report for supervisor consists of: objective, analysis
and results, planning, personal comment, summary of the weekly reports.
· Provide minutes of meetings when necessary.
· Reports any problems or constraints faced during the implementation of
the activities.
· Any information regarding security issue has to be immediately shared
with supervisor.
· Responsible for transmit all related and relevant psychosocial/
humanitarian information to supervisor.

Objective 5 : Communication
Activities :
· Maintains a constructive collaboration with all AcF staffs (nationals
and expatriates, from all departments) and all local partner’s staffs
· Gives regular feed-back to the supervisor (phone calls when his/her
supervisor is not in the field)
· Maintain coordination with local health structure as well as the
community to ensure the quality of implementation and sustainability of project.
· Maintain integration activity with existing ACF team

Objective 6 : Representation of ACF program
Activities :
· Represents AcF program when necessary
· Informs the beneficiaries and the local people in general about AcF
activities
Meets other humanitarian actors in the field and exchange information about the
context and the programs implemented

Required skills:
· University degree or professional qualification (equivalent to
Bachelors, preferable major: Psychology)
· Experience in implementing psychosocial and care practices.
· Good knowledge of Psychological & mental health issue (symptoms,
causes, and treatment of acute psychology/ psychosocial disorder; development
psychology)

· Ability to work cooperatively as part of a diverse team, and within
diverse cultural / religious contexts
· Sensitivity to and empathy with the community, especially regarding
traditional and cultural beliefs, heath/nutrition practices, health
seekingbehaviourand gender issues.
· Good communication and facilitation skills
· Willingness to travel, work and stay in remote rural areas
· Proficiency with computer
· Bahasa Indonesia proficiency, Javanese skills an advantage


Diploma / Level of studies:Bachelor degree or psychology Professional
Qualification.

Experience in team supervision – Maturity – Good knowledge of English – Sense of
