VSO helps make change happen. By bringing people together to share skills, build capabilities and promote understanding, we assist the fight against poverty in developing countries. We're now looking for dynamic and influential people to join the Asia Pacific funding team to help us increase our income and reach our ambitious funding targets.
The job
We work in 17 countries across Asia Pacific - the region which is home to two thirds of the world's people living in poverty. These programmes focus on Asia and the Pacific's pockets of extreme poverty - often found within some of its most vibrant economies, like India and China. Our programmes across the region are different, based on local contexte, but have the following themes:
* unequal access for poor and marginalised groups to basic services such as education and healthcare;
* strengthening the resilience of poor and marginalised communities and, wherever possible, provide them with greater economic and social strength in the future;
* utilizing people as agents of change - encouraging them to part of the development process as 'active citizens', encouraging them to volunteer to help themselves and others, and hold government to account through engaging and often creating local and national governance platforms.
These new roles will support our country programmes to find the funds we need to implement these exciting and innovative new strategies and make an impact on poverty. We need people to provide funding leadership across Asia Pacific whilst optimising income generation from a range of donors.
You
You're a talented fundraiser with proven track record of securing in significant levels of restricted income, across a range of funding streams. You have worked with institutional funders like the EC, USAID, DFID, and the UN and have developed funding strategies that have delivered against targets.
Us
We're a development organisation that's been working through volunteers to fight poverty for more than fifty years. We are continuously evolving and exploring new ways to use the time, energy and skills of people to make a difference. Even if you know us, it's worth checking out our website - we might not be the organisation you think we are.
