Title: Finance Officer
Location: Mentawai
Report to: Area Coordinator
Lembaga Fajar Harapan is an independent non-governmental organization based in Medan, North Sumatera and has program operations in Aceh, North Sumatera and West Sumatera Provinces. FH has been working in Indonesia since 2005 and aims to alleviate all forms of poverty through wholistic programming and approach.
Currently, FH works in the Agriculture, Economic Development, Education sectors as well as addressing cross cutting issues such as Gender Balance and Equity, Good Governance and Disaster Risk Reduction. Our goal is to walk with families and community leaders to bring sustainable change.
Main purpose of the role
The Finance and Administration officer is based in Mentawai, West Sumatera and reports to Area Coordinator on all matters pertinent to her/his job. She is responsible for a timely and accurate accounting and internal control function in order to fulfill finance needs of management and to ensure Lembaga FH program quality.

This role will:
- Work closely with Area Coordinator, CDFs and Finance Manager as far as this role is concerned.
- Responsible for creating creative ideas and playing a pivotal role as Finance and Administration Officer so that programs run with excellence and high level of organization.
Responsibilities (JD)
•Responsible for managing petty cash in Mentawai office
•Prepare and analyze all accounts receivable and payable including Advance to Programs/Staff personal Account. Report this regularly to Area Coordinator
•Ensure the monthly Mentawai Vehicle Logs are maintained properly
•Report to Finance Manager on Area Coordinator's review and awareness on appropriate financial information and keep Finance Manager and Area Coordinator updated on all issues affecting the work
•Treat all information requiring performing duties with highest level of confidentiality
•Ensure that all (hard copies and soft copies) departmental files are in order
Qualifications, experience and competences Essential
•Ability to read, write and communicate in Indonesian, good command of English
•Computer literate, highly organize
•Ability to get along with people from all walks of life
•Ability to handle details and contribute to team building environment
•Experience of working and participating effectively as part of a team.
•Attention to detail.
•Teachable spirit, passionate about FH vision, mission and values.
•Ability to effectively present information
•Interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and/ or government regulations
•Basic knowledge in Accounting
•Experience in Accounting/bookkeeping/GL at least 2 years
•Familiarity with MS Office with advanced Excel skill.
Desirable
•Working knowledge of internet based accounting/financial software ie. Sunsystem
•Knowledge of impressed fund petty cash system
•Experience in NGO Finance and Administration
